Whereas group classes suit many people, individual lessons are geared towards your particular needs. We consider how much time you have to practise, what time of day is best for you, what interests you and what you want to get from your practice.
You will be guided through a specially designed practice, which will then be written down for you to take away and practise at home between sessions. Your teacher will refine and develop the direction of your practice, based on your feedback.
Individual sessions are particularly useful for those who:
are committed to developing a personal yoga practice
have a therapeutic need they wish to address with a home practice (depression, anxiety, energetic or structural problems, breathing difficulties)
are interested in deepening their understanding of yoga
would appreciate more detailed feedback and advice on their practice
find that committing to a regular class is difficult
Your sessions may be weekly at first, but once your practice is established, your teacher will usually see you monthly. This can vary of course: some may choose to come weekly, others every few months. You will benefit most by committing to at least 4--6 sessions, though some students continue for longer. Individual sessions are booked by appointment.
Free Consultation: A free initial consultation is usually offered to discuss any queries. This lasts about 30 minutes. If you wish to continue, then sessions are priced at £25-40 an hour.
